Port Jefferson/Bridgeport Ferry leaves from the Bridgeport Ferry Dock, Bridgeport, CT

Set sail and enjoy the end of summer on the Long Island Sound at the St. Vincent's SWIM Across the Sound 8th annual Sunset Sail on Saturday, September 11, 2010 from 3:30-7p.m. aboard the Port Jefferson/Bridgeport Ferry.
Tickets for the adults-only event can be purchased for $50 (must be 21 years or older). The event includes an array of catered dishes, wine and beer, great raffles and a beautiful view of the Sound at sunset.
The three-and-a-half-hour cruise will take passengers along Connecticut coast and out into open water as day turns into night. Live music and dancing will provide entertainment for passengers on the top deck. All proceeds from the Sunset Sail, which amounted to more than $20,000 in 2009, will benefit the SWIM's Breast Cancer programs, which include mobile mammography screenings, breast cancer support groups and assistance to patients battling breast cancer and their families.

Kathy Young, chair of the Sunset Sail, is looking forward to another successful Sail. "The Sunset Sail is a fun SWIM event," says Young. "All you need to do is sit back, relax and enjoy great company and beautiful scenery."
The SWIM raised $2.65 million in the 2009 Fiscal Year. The SWIM sponsors 40 cancer education, screening and prevention programs as well as provides one-on-one financial assistance and helps more than 20,000 cancer patients and their families each year.
